In the 80s I was interested in two things. Filmmaking and video games (both playing and programming. I've grown up now and as I've dabbled in the indie filmmaking scene I've not done much with my affection for video games. Computer role playing games to be specific. This blog is kind of a shrine for that endeavor but I want it to be something more.
On June 26, 2012 my grandfather passed away. I was at his side when he did. Considering how close our family is this was a bit of a shock to me. It made me reflective about life in general and my own life in particular. About things he did in his life that I consider pretty incredible and if I would have interesting stories to tell when my turn came to shed this mortal coil. Some deep reflecting told me I needed to do more. That's how this blogs expanded a bit.
I want to live an interesting life and do interesting things. You know, be an interesting person. After my grandfather died I set my first goal and have mostly achieved it. I was overweight but I set a goal to lose that weight and have a healthier lifestyle. In six months I'd lost 20 pounds and I continues to work towards that.
Now it's time to set more goals and achieve them. These goals are a mixture of things I've always wanted to do, like program a CRPG in C++, places I want to go, people I want to meet and more. I am compiling a list of these things and I'll post them on this blog when I'm finished.
In short this is my little journey as a indie game developer, game player and being a better person in general.
Stay tuned, more to come!
